Councillors
The Greater Geelong municipality is subdivided into 12 electoral wards and each elects a single Councillor.

Current wards will continue for the remainder of the term of office.  New wards will have effect for the purpose of
 the General Election to be held in November 2008 and thereafter. View the new wards .

Portfolios
Council has adopted a portfolio system where Councillors may be allocated specific responsibilities. Portfolios are as shown below.

Council Meetings
Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, with any changes in the cycle or any additional Special Meetings being publicised through the media. All meetings are open to the public.
