Local food vendors needed for UCI Road World Championships

The UCI Road World Championships is seeking food vendors to cater for the major cycling event.

There are plenty of opportunities for local businesses to provide catering to the general public at event precincts along the course.

City of Greater Geelong Mayor Cr John Mitchell encouraged local food vendors to express their interest now.

“We’re expecting around 300,000 spectators over the five days, so it’s a great opportunity for local food vendors,” Cr Mitchell said.

“The event organiser is calling for expressions of interest from coffee and ice cream vans, hot food providers, any sort of fast food.”

“This will be the biggest event that our region’s ever seen.  The economic benefit is tipped to be tens of millions of dollars and we want the majority of this cash injection to go to our local businesses.”

“A Business Register has also been set up as a way of helping Geelong businesses to capitalise on the event.  If your business is not already on the register, sign up now.”
