2010 UCI Road World Championships
The World is coming to Geelong!

The UCI Road World Championships, a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the world's best cyclists for free on the streets of Geelong, arriving shortly.

The World Championships have a rich history and have been won by famous cyclists such as Lance Armstrong, Eddie Merckx, Greg Lemond, Mario Cipollini as well as Australia’s Michael Rogers and current World Champion Cadel Evans.

This event is second only to the legendary Tour de France in terms of importance and prestige in international cycling and it will bring the best riders in the world to Australia.

The five days of the competition will be contested on a 16km course through the central and inner south-west areas of Geelong. Starting and finishing in the heart of Central Geelong!

In total six cycling events will be staged in Geelong during five days of competition:
  • Under 23 Time Trial and Women's Elite Time Trial
  • Men's Elite Time Trial 
  • Men's Under 23 Road Race
  • Women's Elite Road Race
  • Men's Elite Road Race
Road closures will be implemented along the route.

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times.

People will be able to walk to any public part of the course including every business and residence on the course roads via existing footpaths and designated marshaled course crossings approximately every 400 meters through out the 16km circuit.
